From early childhood on, Tomislav Vujcic (born 1983) was fascinated by movies. But it took him some time to finally fully commit to this industry. After graduating from secondary school in Germany, he completed his military service in Croatia and afterwards studied Health Communication in Bielefeld. During this time he wrote his first stories.
He completed internships at film and TV production companies and successfully applied for an WDR project called „Grenzenlos“ (boundless) where he was given crash courses in journalistic work. At the same time he started working on his first independent movie called „Bad Time Stories“. This experience encouraged him to concentrate on moviemaking full-time. Since 2011 he has been studying Directing at the Ruhrakademie in Schwerte and graduated in October 2017. His diploma film CHAMP was honoured for his outstanding work at the academy.
Since the beginning of his studies he shot narrative short films, image films and music videos based on screenplays mostly written by himself.
“Art is the freedom to express yourself – and I do this through film. To me, it is the perfect medium to reach people.”
