NOVA, 8min., USA, Family Drama
Directed by Gabe Sheets
Sam is a transgender teenager who is still reeling from his parents’ recent divorce. His father, David, has responded to the divorce and his son’s estrangement by isolating himself and fixating on his hobby of repairing the old Chevy Nova in his garage. While visiting for the weekend, Sam attempts to reconnect with his estranged father by taking it a upon himself to fix the car for his dad.

BLUEBERRY SMOOTHIE, 19min., UK, Romance Drama
Directed by Darren Lee Murphy
Karl wakes from yet another dream about his ex, Brad. When making Brad’s favourite blueberry smoothie he is confronted by the past when Brad appears and challenges Karl over the failure for Karl to move on. Memories, both good and bad, bombard Karl’s mind taunting him and making him continue to long and fantasise over what he had with Brad. I

ACHING HEARTS, 14min., Netherlands, Drama
Directed by Renée van Zadelhof
Simone is suddenly confronted with her ex-wife Nora. After the loss of their daughter, they had no contact for a long time. Simone loses the balance between reason and feeling. Are the characters still believable? And are their genders still correct? Their reunion opens old wounds and throws Simone off balance. As it happens in tragedies, their lives will never be the same after that.

An astronaut encounters an unexpected emergency while on a routine mission, and finds himself jettisoned into space. Isolated, afraid, and losing oxygen, an emotional revelation may provide the will he needs to survive. Black Box is a story of victory over fear, survival against all odds, and the courage of love.
