Director Statement

‘Sammy the Salmon’ is an absurdist black comedy about a man who is helped by a talking salmon to come to terms with his sexual identity.
With the style of ‘Please Like Me’ and ‘Wilfred’ the film touches on topics such as mental illness and sexual identity.
Although the film is a situational comedy about a man who projects his psyche anthropomorphically onto a salmon the film ends with the main character finding his own voice and confidence to be himself.
