LGBT Film Festival – Monday December 11, 2017

The FEEDBACK Monthly Film Festival is back for 2017.. Our home is The Carlton Cinemas, located in the heart of downtown Toronto at 20 Carlton Street. The event runs from 7pm to 9:10pm.

Continuing to showcase the best of short films from around the world, while maintaining our audience feedback format moderated by Kierston Drier. Showcasing a festival twice a month in Toronto in 2017!

Tickets for 2017 are PAY WHAT YOU LIKE.

If you like to obtain seats in advance and pick them up on the day of the event (come for FREE, or make a donation), please email us atfestivalevent@wildsoundfestival.com and we’ll reserve seats for you.

You can pick up the tickets on the day of the event at the cinema. Tickets are first come, first serve. This festival has sold out 58 out of its last 60 events!

You will be able to buy alcohol (beer, wine, liquor), popcorn, candy, and refreshments before the show.

FIRST ACT PROGRAM


CHRISTINE, 10min, USA, LGBT/Coming of Age

With the help of her best friend, Christine redefines her perception of strength and what it means to be herself.

MASQUERADING: TO HELL AND BACK, 13min., South Africa, LGBT/Documentary
Directed by Sofia De Fay

Two hilarious and eccentric old drag queens living in Cape Town, South Africa remember their lives and how they survived years of brutal and terrifying discrimination. The fifty year old drag queens remember the apartheid years, where up till 1994 in South Africa it was illegal to “masquerade” as the opposite sex.

A closeted boy runs the risk of being outed by his own heart after it pops out of his chest to chase down the boy of his dreams

An older gay man is inspired to record a testimonial after watching a bisexual teenager’s video, assuring him that ‘It Gets Better.’

WE DID NOT FALL FROM THE SKY, 26min., UK, Experimental/Relationship
Directed by Tabs Breese & Georgia Oakley

Purushi, Pratiksha and Shalu are three best friends and trans women struggling to find their place in contemporary Indian society, often via the only means of making a living available to them: sex work and begging. Our film is a highly stylised art piece – the live action is intercut with animation and dreamlike dance sequences.
