Han Chi-chieh graduated from the Department of Filmmaking at Taipei National University of the Arts. Bin Bin is his directorial debut film.
Director Statement
When I was 17 in high school, a boy classmate who behaved extremely sissy was badly mocked by everyone. People treated him like a freak in the military training class. Under this circumstance, I felt compassionate for him.
The work “Bin Bin” reflects my oppressive life experience in that ear.
It is not only to probe the romance or friendship, but also to the inner world of gay people. I believe, no matter homosexuality or heterosexuality, the process of discovering romance is also sweet and bitter, with ambiguous joy and indecisive pain.
