A gay activist rallies the queer community after he and a trans activist are assaulted by a group of religious extremists.

Director Biography – MATTHEW RIUTTA

Corn-fed and raised in rural Indiana, Matthew Riutta has worked for 17 years with the Bay Area’s film/TV community. He has directed the short films Lunch Lady (2019 Cinequest Film Festival, Toronto Int’l Shorts Film Festival), Sharks & Minnows (Best Short Film – 2019 CA Independent Film Festival), Across (Audience Award – 18th Annual Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema, Audience Award – Bay Area Short Film Festival), and Median (Audience Award – SF Queer Film Fest).
As a location manager, he’s worked on films such as Milk, The Master, and Fruitvale Station (2013 Sundance Film Festival’s Audience/Grand Jury Award). He also managed HBO’s Looking, Insecure, and Netflix’s Sense8. He holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Business from Indiana University.
