Rita Krasniqi was born in October 21, 1994 in Mitrovicë, Kosovo. She was raised in the capitol city Prishtina where she has finished her undergraduate studies for Film and TV Directing at the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Arts. She is based in Los Angeles, CA, both working and finishing her graduate studies at the New York Film Academy, Film and Media Program. Besides writing and directing, Rita is also concentrating in the cinematography department as well.
Director Statement
I’m a Kosovan writer, director, and cinematographer. I was raised to always fight and find ways to always speak the truth out. I’ve been through war, I was a refugee — these experienced drove to capture moments and tell stories. Find the voice of so many people who although they scream and yell, their voice isn’t heard. My films are focused on social issues and human rights. This film is dedicated to so many people around the world who still have to live in the shadows while the rest of us enjoy the sunlight.
